John Lee is a towering figure in jazz whose deep groove, musical wisdom, and decades-spanning career have made him one of the most respected bassists in the genre. An American bassist, Grammy Award–winning record producer, composer, and audio engineer, Lee has performed with many of jazz’s greatest legends and continues to shape the music’s future through performance, education, and artistic leadership. In 1984, Lee joined the legendary Dizzy Gillespie as his bassist, a role he held for nearly a decade, performing in bands such as the United Nation Orchestra and Gillespie’s big band ensembles. At the request of the Gillespie family, Lee later became the artistic director and bassist of the Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars, the All-Star Big Band, and the Afro-Cuban Experience, keeping Dizzy’s boundary-breaking spirit alive on stages around the globe. IA Grammy Award winner for his work as recording engineer and producer on Jazz Batá 2, Lee’s influence extends far beyond performance — he has produced over 70 albums and engineered more than 100 recordings.

Julia Smulson (professionally known as Julia Danielle) is an award-winning jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator whose voice and artistry are rapidly resonating across the national jazz scene. With a sound that blends deep emotional expression, technical finesse, and a fresh interpretive voice, Julia has become one of the most exciting emerging talents in contemporary jazz.

In 2022, Julia was honored as the International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition Winner, a distinguished accolade that celebrates excellence, creativity, and mastery in jazz singing — placing her in the lineage of vocal greats and highlighting her as a rising star in the genre.

Tommaso Perazzo is a critically acclaimed Italian jazz pianist, composer, and Hammond organist based in New York City whose artistry blends deep tradition with contemporary sensibility. Born in Angera, Italy, Perazzo began piano at age five and went on to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam before earning a Master’s degree in jazz piano at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with renowned mentors including Phil Markowitz, Buster Williams, and Miguel Zénon.

Perazzo has performed at major festivals and clubs across Europe and the U.S., including Umbria Jazz, Torino Jazz Festival, Guimarães Jazz, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Mezzrow, and Blues Alley, sharing the stage with luminaries such as Buster Williams, Wayne Escoffery, Flavio Boltro and Gregory Hutchinson.
