Austin Ford, one of the region’s rising saxophone voices, takes the Brvsh Cul7ur3 stage for a night of expressive tone, rich improvisation, and deep groove. Austin holds a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied under the tutelage of Ingrid Jensen, Jon Faddis, Scott Wendholt, and others. He regularly performs around the city at various venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, and the Aman Theatre.

Expect modern jazz energy, smooth transitions, and an atmosphere you’ll feel long after the last note fades.

Marty Scott Quintet

Friday October 24th

Marty Clemons Scott is a jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, teaching artist, and designer born on Christmas Day in Long Island, NY, and raised in Freeport. His music lives at the intersection of hard bop fire, soulful storytelling, and community-rooted education.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from SUNY Purchase and is pursuing a Master's degree in Music Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, alongside a Master's in Music from the School of Music. Marty performs a variety of jazz styles, including Bebop hard bop, and Latin jazz, drawing inspiration from legends like Curtis Fuller, Steve Davis, and J.J. Johnson. He collaborates with various artists both in and outside of NYC, writing, recording, and performing original compositions and arrangements. His performances have graced renowned venues such as Birdland Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, and The Django, among others.

Will Hill Trio

Saturday October 25th

William Hill III is a pianist, arranger, composer, and bandleader from Detroit, Michigan.  Hill is honored to receive awards from programs such as the National YoungArts Foundation, a multi-year winner in the instrumental contemporary category for the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition, and the West Virginia University International Jazz Piano Competition. Musicians that Hill has worked alongside and have been mentored by include Marc Cary, Aaron Parks, Buster Williams, Christian McBride, Curtis Lundy, Jaleel Shaw, Jazzmeia Horn, Joe Farnsworth, Ari Hoenig, Jason Moran, Rodney Whitaker, Wynton Marsalis, and many more. Hill has had the opportunity to perform at the Detroit International Jazz Festival, Dizzy’s Club, Smalls Jazz Club, Mezzrow Jazz Club, Minton’s Playhouse, The Django, The Kennedy Center, Esplanade-Theaters on the Bay (Singapore), Blue Note Tokyo, and many others to name a few. Hill has recently released his sophomore album, “Keep it Movin’” summer of 2025. Hill’s passion in life as a musician is to spread joy to everyone around the world with the music that he produces.

Derek Campos Band

Wednesday October 29th

Derick Campos is a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and educator based in New Jersey. In 2016, Derick joined the Jazz House Kids program, to pursue his love for the art form, where he studied with Bruce Williams, and Oscar Perez. His inclination towards his Brazilian roots led him to study with Toninho Horta, who guided his journey as a composer. As of May of 2023, Derick graduated as a Jazz Studies Major, under the mentorship of Dave Stryker. He now teaches music and performs with R&B group Mood Merchant, as well with musicians in the NJ/NYC area.

Matt Panayides Quartet

Thursday October 30th

Matt Panayides is a guitarist and composer based in Jersey City, known for his distinctive tone, lyrical improvisation, and deeply personal approach to modern jazz. Drawing inspiration from Jim Hall, Wes Montgomery, Joni Mitchell, and Jimi Hendrix, he has developed a sound that bridges tradition and innovation. 

A longtime fixture on the New York jazz scene, Panayides has led his own groups and collaborated with many leading artists in the U.S. and abroad. His music reflects years of exploration — from classic jazz repertoire to original compositions that balance intricate writing with dynamic improvisation.

Panayides is now returning to the quartet format with a new album (forthcoming in 2026), featuring Rich Perry on tenor saxophone, Steve LaSpina on bass, and Mark Ferber on drums. The project builds on his previous work while pushing further into melodic storytelling and interactive group playing.

Tim Armacost is a master storyteller.  HIs music is fresh and surprising in 2024, deeply rooted in the modern jazz tradition, and informed by 40 years of experience on the international jazz scene.  From contributing his voice to Emilio Solla’s Grammy winning recording “Puertos” on tenor saxophone, clarinet and alto flute in 2020, to his innovative trio explorations with Jeff “Tain” Watts and Robert Hurst, to his 19 year association with NYSQ, Armacost is a dynamic presence in New York.

Mark Gross Quartet

Saturday November 1st

Mark has performed on Broadway several times, as well. He performed in 'FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE' (1992-1993) based on the music of Louis Jordan. 'KAT AND THE KINGS' (1999-2000). This musical explores the joyous sounds that were born out of oppression during the 1950's in Cape Town, South Africa; APARTHEID. This is a rollicking rock-'n'-roll musical. Mark has also added to the exciting musical that showcased music of the same title, 'SWING' (2000-2001). Mark has also appeared in 'Malcolm X' (1992), Spike Lee's major motion film. Mark also was the lead alto saxophonist with the Jazz @ Lincoln Center All Stars in the Broadway musical 'AFTER MIDNIGHT' (2013-2014). Mark Gross was also a featured musician on the HBO series 'Boardwalk Empire' season 4 (2013). Mark will also appear in the film 'ANNIE' (2014), to be released December 19, 2014.

Mark credits his prolific sound to the rich appreciation for Gospel music that resounded through his parent's Baltimore home. Mark's father was the Pastor of his hometown church Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C. up until his passing February 1, 2007. After developing his interests in classical music at the Baltimore School for the Arts, Mark studied four years at Berklee College of Music and got his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance.

Zaccai Curtis is an acclaimed recording artist and producer, recently honored with the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. He leads his own groups, the Zaccai Curtis Quintet and Sonido Solar, and after five successful releases, is set to release his new album Sonoluminescence in 2026. Together with his brother Luques, Zaccai co-founded the record label TRRcollective, a collaborative space for musicians to produce and release their own music. He is also proud to have produced the Grammy-nominated album Entre Colegas by Andy González (2016).

Julius Tolentino Quartet

Saxophonist and educator Julius Tolentino has been a staple of the New York jazz scene for over 20 years.  In this capacity, he has played and recorded with numerous small groups and big bands including Louis Haye’s Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band and the Louis Hayes Quartet, Eric Reed’s Sextet, Jeremy Pelt’s Quintet, Natalie Cole, Wycliffe Gordon, Connie Francis, Gloria Gaynor, the Illinois Jacquet Big Band, the Christian McBride Big Band, Cecile Mclorin, Michael Feinstein, Dianne Reeves, Jimmy Heath, the Count Basie Orchestra and the Duke Ellington Orchestra.  

A graduate of the Hartt School of Music, Julius studied with NEA Jazz Master and alto saxophone legend Jackie McLean, who introduced him to his second musical father, Illinois Jacquet. He has played in top jazz venues and festivals throughout the United States, including Lincoln Center, the Newport Jazz Festival, Tanglewood, the Village Vanguard, Birdland, Blue Note, the Jazz Standard and Dizzy’s Coca Cola. As a leader, his debut album, “Just the Beginning,” on the Sharp Nine label, reached No. 8 on the jazz charts in 2006.
