GRAMMY® Award winningTrumpeter/composer, Michael Rodriguez was born on July 14, 1979 in Queens, New York. Michael was inspired to pursue music as a career by his father, drummer Roberto Rodriguez. 

This list is not exhaustive, but Michael has performed and toured with Clark Terry, Bobby Watson, Quincy Jones, Joe Lovano, Toshiko Akiyoshi Orchestra, Pop Icon Jessica Simpson, Chico O’farill Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis and the JALC, Lincoln Center Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, and is a member of Charlie Haden’s Liberation Music Orchestra.

Raphael Silverman Jam Session (EVERY SATURDAY)

Raphael Silverman is a jazz guitarist, composer, and teacher. He grew up in White Plains, NY and started playing the guitar at 13. Early on, he was greatly inspired by rock, folk, and country guitarists like Nels Cline, Bob Dylan, Rivers Cuomo, and Chet Atkins. He then quickly moved on to jazz, first falling in love with the music of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. In 2022, Raphael was awarded a Downbeat Student Award for Outstanding Soloist in the Undergraduate Category for his recording of “How Deep is The Ocean”.

Johnathan Blake Trio

Johnathan Blake, one of the most accomplished drummers of his generation, has also proven himself a complete and endlessly versatile musician.  

He has collaborated with Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, Tom Harrell, Hans Glawischnig, Avishai Cohen, Donny McCaslin, Linda May Han Oh, Jaleel Shaw, Chris Potter, Maria Schneider, Alex Sipiagin, Kris Davis and countless other distinctive voices. DownBeat once wrote, “It’s a testament to Blake’s abilities that he makes his presence felt in any context.” A frequent presence on Blue Note records over the past several years, Blake has contributed his strong, limber pulse and airy precision to multiple leader releases from Blue Note artists including Dr. Lonnie Smith’s Breathe (2021), All in My Mind (2018) and Evolution (2016) and Kenny Barron’s Concentric Circles (2018), the latter whose trio Blake has been a vital member for nearly 15 years.

Michael Rabinowitz Group

Whether blowing bebop over a Mingus tune or freely improvising with Anthony Braxton, Michael Rabinowitz's contributions have changed the conception of what the bassoon can do.  He has recorded with Ira Sullivan, Red Rodney, Wynton Marsalis, John Hicks, Dave Douglas, Chris Potter and Joe Lovano. His festival appearances include Chicago, Montreal, Berlin, Tri-city, Tanglewood, San Francisco and Hollywood Bowl. Michael is a founding member of The Charles Mingus Orchestra which can be heard regularly at the Jazz Standard in NYC.

Born in Neiva (Huila), Alexander Pastrana Sotto is a Colombian pianist, composer, arranger, music producer, and ambassador for the prestigious Nord keyboards.

He has performed with artists such as Jeff "Tain" Watts, John Benitez, Samuel Torres, Oscar Stagnaro, Luisito Quintero, Francisco Zumaqué, Chabuco, Maria Escobar, Yuri Buenaventura, Carlos Vives, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá , he has collaborated with Big Band Bogotá, Fruko y Sus Tesos, Henry Fiol, Luis Enrique, Charlie Cardona,  Wilfrido Vargas, Willie Gonzalez, Charlie Aponte, Tito Allen, Tony Succar, Ray De La Paz, Ray Sepúlveda, Luisito Carrión, Raulin Rosendo, Little Johnny, Eddie Montalvo, Grupo Zaperoco, Il Divo, Oro Solido the Lucho Bermúdez Orchestra, among others.

Dave Stryker Trio

Hot House magazine awarded Dave Best Guitarist – Fans Decision for 2017. He was most recently voted once again as one of the top Jazz Guitarists in the 2022 Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls for the 15th time.

Dave co-led The Stryker/Slagle Band for 30 years with saxophonist Steve Slagle. He has appeared on over 75 CD’s as a sideman. Past sideman work has included vocalist Kevin Mahogany’s group, with Dave writing and arranging music for Kevin’s Telarc release Pride and Joy and Another Time, Another Place on Warner Bros and tours of Europe, Japan, Brazil, Poland and Carnegie Hall.

His early twenties saw him sharing the stage with jazz legends Bunky Green, George Russell, Curtis Fuller and George Garzone. Since moving back to New York, he has spent recent years traveling and playing in the musical groups of trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, bassist Christian McBride, trumpeter Eddie Allen, saxophonist Mike Lee, trombonist Steve Turre, guitarist Dave Stryker, vocalists Melissa Walker and Charenee Wade along with saxophonist Adrian Cunningham with whom he has a recording entitled “Professor Cunningham and his Old School”.
