Applicants should be between ages 14-22 years old

Actions required: 1) Fill out the above form 2) Next, create a 3 mins video with the following format and email it to info@brvshcul7ur3.com with the subject heading “Youth Jazz Competition & Orchestra”

Introduction (15–20 seconds) - Say your name, what instrument you play, and share one quick reason you love playing music.

Play your instrument:

Ballad (1 minute) - Play a slow, lyrical piece. Show smooth sound, good tone, and expression.

Up-Tempo / Swing (1 minute) - Play something faster or swinging. Show rhythm, energy, and clear articulation. If comfortable, add a short improvisation.

Technical / Contrast Piece (30–45 seconds) - Choose one: a) A scale or short etude (to show technique and range), OR b) A Latin, funk, or rhythmic piece (to show style), OR c) A short section that shows how you’d blend in an ensemble.

Closing (10 seconds) - Say: “Thank you for watching. I’m excited about the Youth Program!”

Checklist:

Keep the total video close to 3 minutes.

Record in a quiet, well-lit room.

Make sure the sound is clear.

One clean take is fine; trim the start and end if needed.
